PCTV, RTV rake in awards at Emmys

Palomar students shined at the 33rd Annual Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards, held June 16 at the La Costa Resort and Spa.
Students and faculty did not leave empty handed, winning a total of five Emmy's.
Three awards were given to "From War and Peace and Beyond" a documentary produced by Palomar College's educational television department. Two of the three awards were given to Bill Wisneski, PCTV producer. He won in the categories Documentary- 30 minutes and Writing: Program. The other award for Editing: Pre-production was given to Chris Brown, California Community College Satellite Network Production Coordinator.
Palomar College Radio/TV and Cinema students also won Emmy's. The Outstanding Achievement-News award was given to Robert Winsmann for "Medieval Knights". The Outstanding Achievement- Program was awarded to two different programs, "Commander Cosmos", created by Victoria Grimsley, Justin Thatcher, Eric Gill and "The Neighbor" by Brandon Gibbs.
The Emmy's largest scholarship was honored to Palomar College RTV student Iris Caffin for $3,000.
Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievements in television. The Pacific Southwest Region include San Diego, Bakersfield, Palm Springs, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and Las Vegas, Nevada.
