Casino options plentiful

College kids have plenty of choices in San Diego

Casinos like Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino and Viejas Casino offer Las Vegas-style gaming and entertainment in a local setting.

Not everyone can afford to take off to Las Vegas on the weekend whenever the urge strikes to play some cards or hear the chimes of the slot machine.

Luckily for Palomar students there are a myriad of casinos right here in the San Diego area.

They all offer the standard fare like slots and buffets but there is also plenty that differentiates each casino from the next so that no matter were you choose to go, you can be sure you will have a fun and unique experience.



Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino

1932 Wildcat Canyon Rd., Lakeside

Located in Lakeside in a sprawling ranch-like setting, Barona is easily accessible by the trolley and the casino's own shuttle.

Big spenders will probably feel the most at home in Barona's Parlor 32. Parlor 32 features high stakes slot machines and video poker and table games were the limit can go up to $10,000.

Regardless of your spending limit, the casino's Club Barona will provide plenty of incentives to play. Members earn points with every pull of the lever and every hand they play. These points can be used toward rounds of golf and spa procedures and the card itself garners a discount throughout the casino.



Harrah's Rincon Resort and Casino

Harrahs boasts over 1,500 slot machines, 100 bingo machines and 50 different table games. For those with more specialized taste in gambling, the casino also has a spacious poker room where it holds daily and monthly tournaments.

The buffet has a selection of entrees from around the world with surf and turf dinners on the weekend. For those willing to spend a little more on dinner, the Oyster Bar has seafood freshly prepared right in front of your eyes.



Pala Casino

11154 HWY 76, Pala

Pala is probably one of the closest casino's for North County residents with its convenient location in between Temecula and Escondido.

Pala is home to almost 3,000 slot machines and 87 table games but it also has plenty of attractions besides its slot machines and card tables. The casino features the Palomar Starlight theater where you can go and see comics like Chelsea Handler or former Beatle, Ringo Starr.
