Palomar's Dr. Peter Gach shows off his talents

Dr. Peter Gach, a member of the music faculty here at Palomar for the last 26 years, showed off some of his pieces for his upcoming performances during concert hour on Sep. 18.
"I have been playing piano for 51 years," Peter Gach said, "and I also played accordion and organ when I was a kid."
Gach played mainly classical music from composers Fryderyk Chopin, Johan Sebastian Bach, Ellen Weller and Robert Savage. He played excerpts from the "Well Tempered Clavier," "Jazz Suite," and "Piano Sonata No. 1," "The Taconic". He also performed "Mazurka in B Major" and "Rondo in Eb Major."
Gach is a teacher and a performer in the Performing Arts Department. He is also one of the main people in the Palomar Artist-in-Residence program here at Palomar and he performs all over the country and the state, including at Palomar.
Peter Gach said that he will be performing works from Karol Maciej Szymanowski, a Polish composer and pianist, in New York City later on this year. Gach will also be performing at the Palomar Symphony Oct. 25-26 and on Thursday Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. in the Performance Lab here at Palomar.
The next concert hour performance, Thursday Oct. 2, will feature American Folk artist Curt Bouterse. The performance will take place at 12:30 p.m. in room D-10, admission is free.
